West Entrance Development;
Phase 1

Roundabout and Boulevard

2004 completion of West Entrance roads project.

The redesign of West Michigan Avenue at the University's West Entrance was completed in the summer of 2004.

2005
College of Health and Human Services building

Dedicated on September 15, 2005.

2006
Volunteer participants from area architecture firms and schools/colleges of architecture, with WMU facilities staff, took part in all-day design and planning workshop to generate concepts for the Miller Plaza and the West Michigan corridor.
Gordon and Elizabeth Sindecuse Health Center

Sindecuse was remodeled to accommodate expansion of the Pharmacy and other service areas after Nursing and Occupational Therapy programs vacated the third floor to move into the new CHHS building.
Dalton Promenade Renovation
As part of the site development for the Chemistry Building project, major changes were made to the Dalton Promenade between the Flag Plaza and Miller Plaza.
Dr. Deither H. Haenicke serves as Interim President from August 15, 2006 through July 1, 2007.

Brown Hall Renovation

State Capital Outlay Project; scheduled to be open Summer 2008.

Richmond Center for Visual Arts

Opened Spring Semester 2007

WMU Board of Trustees approved naming opportunity; building to be named after James W. and Lois I. Richmond.

Building dedicated April 7, 2007.
Dr. John M. Dunn becomes WMU's eighth President on July 1, 2007.
 
2008

South Kohrman Hall renovation

Studios and offices for the School of Art will move into Kohrman Hall in time for Spring Semester 2008 classes.

 
Central Kohrman is being renovated for academic classrooms and offices.
